Feroze Khan's Funeral

Feroz Khan, who has died aged 69, was an Indian actor and producer who became one of Bollywood's biggest stars; with his swagger and tough-guy styling he was compared to American leading men like Clint Eastwood or Steve McQueen.

Veteran Bollywood actor and filmmaker Feroz Khan (pic courtsey:getty), whose career spanned more than four decades, died of cancer early Monday at his home in India.

His funeral was held in Bangalore on April 27, 2009.

Diagnosed with lung cancer last year, Khan had been undergoing treatment in hospital in Mumbai. He asked to visit his family farmhouse where he passed away surrounded by family members.

One of the most colourful personalities of Indian cinema, Khan was dubbed the Clint Eastwood of the East for his swashbuckling, maverick roles.

He appeared in more that 50 films, making his Bollywood debut in 1960 as the co-star of Didi.

Qurbani (Sacrifice), the 1980 film that he produced, directed and starred in, was the biggest hit of his career, making him one of India best-loved heroes. The film introduced foreign locations to Bollywood that are now a norm of the genre.
He is also known for Dharmatma (A Virtuous Soul), which he directed, produced and acted in. Inspired by Hollywood's The Godfather, it was the first Hindi-language movie made on location in Afghanistan.

His other hits include Jaanbaaz (Brave Heart) and Dayavaan (Kindhearted).

The last film he acted in was Welcome in 2007.

He was given several prestigious awards by the Indian film industry.

Khan is survived by his son Fardeen Khan, a Bollywood actor; a daughter Laila Khan Rajpal, and brothers Sanjay and Akbar Khan, who are both actors and filmmakers.

First Look Main Aur Mrs. Khanna

Main Aur Mrs. Khanna is a story of Samir and Raina. The duo has a fairytale marriage. Samir gets his dream job and they both have a great life. They have all that they could ever want! Until one wrong decision leads them to parting ways, maybe forever!
Initially, Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra were signed to essay the lead roles in the film. However, Chopra later opted out of the film due to date problems. The director then was in talks with actresses Preity Zinta and Ayesha Takia.

Producer Sohail Khan announced that the film's title was changed to ‘Main Aur Mrs. Khanna’, and was expected to go on floors in November 2007 with Lara Dutta being signed on for the female lead. Unfortunately, Dutta was dropped from the film for unknown reasons and rumours indicated that Khan was in talks with Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. According to sources Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone will be making guest appearances in the film whereas Preity Zinta will be appearing in an item number.

The film has been shot in outskirts of Mumbai and later continued shooting in Melbourne, Australia, where a pivotal scene was shot at the Sydney Airport.

Mugdha "Jailed" by Naked Neil

Mugdha Godse seems to be bearing the brunt of being a part of Bhandarkar’s ‘Jail’. Synonymous to her film’s name, she too was ‘jailed’ for good three hours in her vanity van by none other than co-star Neil Mukesh!
Someone on the sets of "Jail",who also likes to leak out gossips revealed, “Neil Mukesh has done a scene in the film where he goes naked as the police inspect him once he enters the jail. The actor requested Madhur to give him privacy for the scene and thus Mugdha was sort of locked in her vanity van for about three hours, till the scene was finalised.
“Initially a little hesitant, Mugdha co-operated later on and didn’t mind being locked for three hours. She watched IPL in her ‘forced’ break, while Neil smoothly shot the scene with just four people present around him.”

Ace photographer Atul Kasbekar recently told said how his friend actor Arjun Rampal was left awestruck when he saw a 43 year old Nicole Kidman working out on an electric stepper for good two hours!

Atul revealed, “Arjun and Nicole worked out for a day together in a gym during their stay in Udaipur for the ad they have done together. Arjun was taken aback when he saw a 43 year old Nicole vigorously working out on the stepper for two hours! In spite of being fitness conscious himself, Arjun felt Nicole has an unrealistically fit body at her age.”

No pain, no gain seems to be Nicole’s mantra.

Let me give a little Bio of the actress.

Shilpa Shetty was born in a traditional close-knit family in Mangalore[5] that hails from the matrilineal Bunt community.

She is the eldest daughter of Surendra and Sunanda Shetty, manufacturers of tamper-proof caps for the pharmaceutical industry, and her native language is Tulu although she speaks several other languages at differing levels, including English, Kannada, Marathi, Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati, Telugu, Urdu and basic French.

In Mumbai, she attended St. Anthony Girls' High School in Chembur, and later attended Podar College in Matunga. A trained Bharatanatyam dancer, she is also into sports, was the captain of the volleyball team in school, has earned a black belt in Karate and is currently a dancesport expert and enthusiast.

Shetty currently lives in Mumbai with her parents and younger sister Shamita Shetty, who is also a Bollywood actress. They worked together once in the film Fareb (2005). At 5 ft 10 inches (178 cm), Shilpa Shetty is among the tallest actresses in Bollywood. It was revealed on 29 March 2009, that Shilpa has recently purchased a house on Saint George's Hill in Surrey, England with her boyfriend Raj Kundra.

Madhvan's Childhood

Madhavan aka Maddy morphed from a communication trainer to an actor as he was entering into his thirties. Affable and voted PETA’s “cutest male vegetarian” his next project 3 Idiots with Aamir Khan is making news.


Madhavan was born on 1st June 1970 in Jamshedpur, India to Ranganathan and Saroja. His father was a senior manager at the Bank of India. He has a sister Devika who is a software engineer settled in the United Kingdom.

He has a degree in electronics. While in college, in 1988, he represented India as a cultural ambassador in Canada. He also won the Maharashtra Best Cadet Award and traveled to England with three other NCC cadets. While there he was trained with the Royal Army, Navy and the Air Force. He didn’t meet the age criteria required to join them.

He shone bright in other areas too like public speaking. He represented India in 1992 at the Young Businessman Conference in Tokyo, Japan after winning the Indian Championship for Public Speaking. He traveled around India teaching communication and public speaking.

He met Sarita, an air hostess, whom he married in 1999. They had a son Vedant in 2005.

Madhavan’s popularity has seen him being replicated in mobile games like Madhavan’s MIG and Madhavan.

In 1997, Madhavan got a chance to be part of a sandalwood talc ad shot by Santosh Sivan. He was recommended by Sivan to Mani Rathnam who was casting for Iruvar but wasn’t selected. He started working in television serials like Saya, Tol Mol Ke Bol, Banegi Apni Baat, Ghar Jamai and Sea Hawk. He hosted the show Deal Ya No Deal on Sony Entertainment in October 2005.

Pooja attacks Sabah

And, dare we say, more vicious by the day. Model, actress, TV host and woman about town Pooja Bedi inadvertently finds herself dragged into its sordid mess.

Sabah suspects Pooja has a relationship with Adnan and reportedly attacked her in the musician’s home that is itself currently under dispute and a bone of contention in their on-going battle. Pooja, who claims to be an old friend of the family, and is said to have suffered scratches in Sabah’s assault, is furious at the level to which the entire drama went. An unwilling victim, she is now embroiled in the Adnan-Sabah saga that has gone from behind closed doors of the bedroom to the police, court and now media.

In a letter to iTimes, the social networking site of The Times Group, against a report that appeared in Mumbai Mirror, Pooja said there are two separate incidents involving her that she would like to clarify. “On April 6, she barged in with her mobile on video record mode when I was watching a movie Adnan and his dad. I was sitting erect on the hall sofa, he was lying down and she hurled many hysterical abuses and left. Then, on April 13, I was peacefully sitting alone on the sofa reading a book and watching over his terminally ill father while Adnan could get some sleep.

Sabah barged in with her friend Lin, both of them brandishing their mobile cameras at me on record mode, hurling abuses and yelling. She lunged for my mobile phone, which I grabbed in reflex, and she scratched me on my arm causing two long, deep scratches... She then realised what she had done and started screaming, ‘Oh my God! She assaulted me, she assaulted me!’ I was shell shocked.

She then went to another level of hysteria when I stated firmly that I was Adnan’s friend and she started to level all kinds of ridiculous and disgusting allegations against me, attacked my mother, my children and went to the unbelievable hysterical extent of lowering her off shoulder top and exposing her breasts to me to illustrate what she thought of my dress sense... Her actions almost seemed deranged,” writes Pooja.

Salman Khan himself is asking you to Vote

I am listening to my conscience and going out to support candidates whose larger interest and concern is the betterment of society and uplift of the conditions of people.

I am all for candidates engaged in doing outstanding social work like promoting and providing education, building bridges, houses and hospitals, and creating employment in their own small way.

So far I have campaigned for candidates from the Congress, BJP and Nationalist Congress Party (like Milind Deora, Vinod Khanna and Praful Patel) who I know for sure have been indulging in outstanding social work.

It may appear that these candidates approached a film star to garner support. But they didn’t approach me. I volunteered to help them after learning through friends and talking to people about what they have been doing. I will be asking people to vote, not as a film star, but as a common citizen who believes in bringing about change by being the change. I will be there wherever and whenever I am required the most.

My personal belief on a single party ideology remains in my heart, but my larger concern is support to the candidates who have done good work for people — and not those netas who give empty bhashans. There are some potentially-able candidates who have been indulging in boastful, inflammatory, unacceptable and unpardonable speeches. What’s the point? This particular communal factor — a deterrent in sustaining support in the long run — comes in the way of their good work. Aisa bhashan jyada door tak nahin failta aur jyaada din nahin chalta. We live in a society of the people and by the people, what matters in the long run is the work you do for people. Dua milti hai, goodwill and trust banta hai, and that translates into votes.

So, voters must go out and vote, and they should vote for the right candidate. May the party that has the best interests for people at heart win.

Mrs Roshan has reportedly walked out on her husband and moved into her parents' home, due to Hrithik's rowing proximity to his Kites co-star Barbara Mori

The worst seems to have come true for one of the industry's most loved couples. If reports are to be believed, Susanne Roshan has walked out on husband Hrithik with their two kids and moved into her parents' home in Juhu. The reason for the move is said to be Hrithik's romantic liaison with his Kites co-star Barbara Mori.

The buzz is that Susanne had been trying to cope with it for months, but finally made up her mind to walk out. The Roshan family insists that the star's wife has shifted temporarily due to renovations in the house, but according to close sources, that's far from the truth.

Barbara not a phase
A family friend of the Roshans informs us, "Hrithik and Susanne have been having problems for a while now. Initially, everyone thought that Barbara was just another phase in his life. Nobody expected Hrithik to get so serious about her. Susanne has been trying to come to terms with it. But when nothing worked, even her parents supported Susanne in her decision to leave him."

Family 'affairs'
Rumours about the Hrithik-Barbara affair have been the talk of the industry for over two months now. The couple apparently got really close during the last shooting spell in Mumbai. Hrithik has also become extremely fond of her family, including her mother and her brother. Hrithik apparently even made a trip to Amby Valley near Lonavala with the actresses' family, minus his wife.

Few appearances
Reveals a source, "The couple hasn't been making public appearances together for months, including at awards functions. However, when the talk of trouble in their marriage began getting louder, they made an appearance together at Amrita Arora's wedding, but their body language spoke volumes.

Last week, they even made an appearance at Manish Malhotra's fashion show but something went wrong after that."

Roshans hope...
It's believed that Susanne has taken the final step after a lot of consideration. "Both Sanjay and Zarine Khan have given her the emotional strength to take the right call. All they want for their daughter is her happiness," says our source.

However, Susanne still continues to be on good terms with Hrithik's family, who are hoping that this is just a momentary roadblock in the relationship. Pinky and Rakesh Roshan haven't given up hope yet. "They are hoping to find a solution to the problem once Hrithik is back in town," says the friend.

"Something major must have happened between the couple in the last three days because Susanne walked out of the house when Hrithik was away," reveals the source. Barbara Mori is believed to be abroad.

Very much in love
All calls to Susanne remained unparents' home. But she insisted it wasn't because she had walked out on her husband.

"This is completely untrue. Duggu and Susanne are very happy and very much in love. Susanne had to shift out of their flat last week with the two kids as their ceiling is undergoing anti-termite treatment. The kids can't stay at home while the treatment is going on so Susanne is staying at her mom's place."

"Susanne should be back home in a couple of days when work gets over," added Sunaina. But even if they make up, sources close to the couple insist they'll be treading on thin ice.

Hrithik flies from SA to save marriage
Hrithik Roshan flew in last night from South Africa and drove straight to meet Susanne at her parents' place in Juhu.
Said Hrithik, "I am here sitting with Susanne in her mom's house after dining with the entire family. We have both shifted here for a week with the kids because of termite problems.
"We are renovating sections of our floor."

Well well, Bollywood's Bad boy is not a bad name for toughie Salman Khan. He may have been featured as the bad guy of the industry several times over. But many claim that this macho hunk has a heart made of pure gold.

Did you know his first movie was a dud called “Biwi ho to aisi”, in which he was roped in by his favourite aunty Rekha. After this 1988 supporting role came his leading role in romantic hit Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), which broke all the records.

He does have a shady past this man.In 1998 he was arrested by the local police from the shooting location of the film Hum Saath-Saath Hain: We Stand United (1999), for killing protected wild animals and spent about a week behind the bars. The actor is facing trial in three cases of killing black bucks and chinkaras and another of illegal possession of arms. In September 2002, Salman Khan had hit the headlines after he crashed his Land Cruiser near the American Express bakery in Bandra, killing one man and injuring others.

He does a lot for charity and his work was noticed internationally in the movie Phir Milenge (2004) where he played the role of an AIDS patient. It was well appreciated by the World Health Organization (WHO) for presenting the problems of AIDS patient in today's world.
